Dr. Modjtabai joined Dr. Chowdhurys practice 10 years ago after arriving from Portland, Maine.
He is Board Certified both in Infectious Disease and Internal Medicine.
Dr. Modjtabai is extensively involved in the care of infected patients both in the hospital and community.
He sees patients at Doctors Community Hospital, Howard County General Hospital, Laurel Regional Hospital
and he is currently the Chief of Infectious Disease at Prince Georges Hospital Center.
Dr. Modjtabai also enjoys the experience of teaching Internal Medicine residents about
infectious diseases. On his free time he likes to take photographs and travel.
Dr. Imran Chowdhury, MD.
Dr. Chowdhury has been practicing Infectious Disease for over a decade.
Dr. Chowdhury is Board Certified in Infectious Diseases and Internal Medicine.
He graduated from Howard University’s Infectious Disease program and has since been in practice.
He is currently affiliated at Howard County General Hospital, Laurel Regional Hospital, Prince Georges Hospital Center.
In addition to seeing office and hospital patients, Dr. Chowdhury is also involved in the care of patients in Long Term Care Facilities.
He spends considerable time as an attending an instructor to Internal Medicine residents in Prince Georges Hospital Center.
In his spare time he loves to play squash, walk in the park with friends, listen to music, and is a cricket fanatic.
Dr. Amirali Amjadi, MD
Dr. Amjadi comes with over a decade of experience as an attending physician.
He is Board Certified in Infectious Disease and Internal Medicine.
Dr. Amjadi joined the group six years ago, coming from Louisville, KY, where he did his fellowship training.
He is affiliated with Prince Georges Hospital, Howard County General Hospital and he is currently the Chief of Infectious Disease at Doctors Community Hospital.
His likes to play tennis and spend quality time with his family.
Imelda Russell, CRNP
Imelda Russell, ANP-BC
Imelda Russell is a Board certified Nurse Practitioner in Adult Health and specializes in primary care and Infectious Disease.
She completed her Masters Degree and Adult Nurse Practitioner program at New York University and worked at various hospitals in New York City.
She joined the Infectious Disease Care Center (IDCC) in 2001. Her roles with IDCC have included managing the staff Nurse
Practitioners and Physician Assistants.
Most recently Imelda has acted as Clinical Coordinator of the Infusion Center at the IDCC Riverdale, MD office.
Imelda's other passion is wellness and obesity management.
Imelda is certified in Medical Weight Loss Management. She is the primary Health Coach of NEWD MD. Imelda is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioner and the Obesity Medicine Association.
She has privileges at Howard County General Hospital, Dimensions Health System and Doctors Community Hospital.
